Over the past seven years, we have helped hundreds of students improve their study habits, their reading comprehension, and their writing, math and science skills.  We have also helped students improve their test-taking skills, leading to significant jumps in ACT and SAT scores.  As a result, these students have earned better test scores and grades and have grown in self-esteem and confidence. We love celebrating these successes with our students.

Tutoring

NovaEC provides one-on-one tutoring in Reading, Writing, Math and Science. We also offer homework help and organizational coaching.

After seeing the impact that struggling with school and test taking had on students' confidence and happiness, Kim Thompson founded NovaEC ​to help meet the educational needs of students in Northern Virginia.  Kim received her BA in English from Penn State University and her M.Ed., from George Washington University.  She taught general education, honors and Advanced Placement English for Fairfax County Public Schools and has provided private SAT and ACT preparation as well as College Application Essay assistance for the past 15 years.  An expert in helping students meet their potential and exceed their expectations, Kim has worked with students of all grade and skill levels and learning abilities.
